North Stradbroke Island is part of the Quandamooka (Moreton Bay) as are the populated islands of Coochimudlo and Southern Moreton Bay Islands Macleay, Lamb, Russell and Karragara. We border Brisbane and Logan cities as well as the Gold Coast.

How do I get to the island?
If traveling by train from Roma St. or Brisbane city, catch the Cleveland line all the way to the end. Contact Straddie Flyer Gold Cats to confirm when the courtesy bus is connecting on 3286 1964. The bus is parked around to your right as you leave the station. To check train timetables visit the Queensland Rail website at www.qr.com.au. If you are on foot from Cleveland train station to the harbour the walk is just over 20 minutes.
Traveling by car from Brisbane is just a 40 minute drive to Cleveland and Toondah Harbour which is at the end of Middle Street.
To board vehicle Ferries to the island follow Middle Street round to the right. Stradbroke Ferries offer a 45 minute trip across the bay in your car. If travelling by car, upon arrival head into the main town of Dunwich (first on the left). Stop over at the Salt Water Murris Quandamooka art gallery on the main drag there or visit our North Stradbroke Island Historical Museum on Welsby St. The road sweeps around to the right, then travel 20 minutes straight across the island until you reach the Pt Lookout Hall. There is ample parking at Toondah Harbour on the mainland if you are traveling by water taxi to the island and then bus to the headland.
There are several cafes at the headland and these include the Fishes and the Gelati Bar. and Out of the Blue.
SOUTHERN MORETON BAY ISLANDS
Access to the Southern Moreton Bay Islands (SMBI) of Russell, Macleay, Lamb and Karragarra Islands is via Weinam Creek harbour a further 15 minutes south from Cleveland and the Stradbrokes Toondah Harbour.
