Melomy's September residency

For a week in September Canaipa Mudlines artists inhabited the marshy and shimmering forest of Melody’s wetlands. The residency gave us the opportunity to explore not only the central clearing areas, but to get to know the low water, the strange “dead zones”, those shallow basins that possible are too salty for even grasses to grow, the denser forests, the filling pools after rain, the implied pathways that form the forest entry and became increasingly familiar over the week … The culmination of the week was an open day and picnic. We had a wonderful turnout; new friendships were forged, and rich and joyful conversation flowed.
